What happened at Roadhouse wasn't even remotely "random." Fight among patrons moves outside at 2 in the fucking morning and two guys get stabbed. How in the fuck is that "random"?
I can't think of a single instance of "random" violence in the inner city in the last several years. There was that poor man who was murdered by skinheads in the NW but that wasn't inner city unless you're really stretching the definition. The guys who drove around the city on stabbing spree a few Stampedes ago did end up killing a woman at 17ave/11St sw but that was almost certainly not random either as they were targeting drug dealers.
If you're talking about completely hapless, innocent, in the wrong place at the wrong time victims, yes, Jose Neto Ribeiro was tragically blinded three years ago, but the even more horrific examples (a man shot to death outside a restaurant, a woman raped and murdered near and LRT platform) weren't inner city.
