More good stuff from Russia! Those colours in the third picture look insane. Is the whole development going to be in those kind of colours? I noticed some pretty vivid blue detailing in the second one.

The natural setting looks pretty spectacular, too.

Certainly looks like a beautiful area to host the 2014 Winter Olympics.

I am surprised at what Sochi looks like. I was expecting a cold place. This place has palm trees down in the valley, and looks more like southern Europe, as JMancuso suggested.

^^ Sochi is actually at the same latitude as Nice, France. Though Nice owes its warmth more to the fact Western Europe is influenced greatly by the Gulf Stream and because of the presence of the North Sea as opposed to a landmass. On the other than, the Caucasus Mountains tend to shelter Sochi from cold Siberian air in the winter, while the Black Sea also helps moderate its temperatures.

What a beautiful place. I heard on NPR though that many of the locals are unhappy about what the preperation of the winter olympics is doing to their businesses and residences.

Beautiful pics. But I feel so stupid because I don't know these great looking Russian cities. I guess the old saying about never being too old to learn is true. Thanks for the tour.
