I believe the circled building is the home of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart.

The hospital closed in the 1980s. -today the building is home to The Dream Center http://www.dreamcenter.org/

Thank you, Etherial-Reality. I found a photo of my model on a friends website. I'm going to try to post. Hope it works! Next I'll try to find the colored postcard.

Somebody, somewhere, must know somebody who heard of someone who may know the roof colors.

Darn newbies! Pictures are much easier to post on ebay and f/b! Sorry they're not exactly correct.

The shop, with it's curved features, looks like it's on a corner, but 3732 places it mid way between Western Ave. and Hobart Blvd.

Hi Mr. W.:
This is a really cool model. I like the little lights...adds a lot of zest. You are very talented. Have you done other models?

LA Noir....

Los Angeles police photo. Taken by Officer Oliver in 1934. Nice pair of Spectator shoes, which were fashionable in those days.

Here's a larger version of the tinted postcard. I dug it out of a PDF file on beverlyhills.org.

The overpass today. The building on the right appears to be the same, even though the windows have been heavily modified.

I'm glad you posted these before and after photos HossC.

Here's a great photograph looking east across the Sunset Blvd. bridge. (note the wooden sidewalks)

This makes me wonder where the mirror-mural ended up after the Paris Inn closed.
It's probably in someone's attic or basement.

1800 W. Washington Blvd

The hard-to-miss newly built home of the Ward Heater Company, 1931.

Regarding the Metlox Neon Signs truck on the right, see http://oursouthbay.com/May-June-2011/Full-Circle/ and http://www.collectics.com/education_metlox.html and http://books.google.com/books?id=1Cn...20neon&f=false

And it's still a hard building to miss:
