Hey guys I'm a longtime viewer first time posting and I can give you guys info on highrise construction and foundation work, dont be afraid to ask any questions. First thing I wanted to share to you guys is that the tower crane will go up on the first weekend of December and it will be a diesel luffing crane.

Why did they decide to go with just one crane or were they never planning on two cranes to begin with?
Well my main guess is that it would be overkill and more than one crane would cost more money and this buildings floor plate isnt big enough for two cranes

1) Welcome as well
2) Re the floorplate size point, it is interesting that 300 N LaSalle went with (if memory serves) two tower cranes (although to be sure they were not as large/high capacity as the base of the RiverPoint crane indicates it will be) and typical floorplate there is I believe at most about the same as RiverPoint's, and I think even a little smaller....

It's interesting to see the similarities in 444 and 300 N LaSalle, yet they're utilizing what appears to be a totally different method of hoisting, with a crane mounted through the core. Welcome, Hunterperron!
To give you guys a little bit of a similarity, this building will go up like 353 N Clark and 155 N Wacker did and I if you want to check out on Instagram my friend "rlorenz77" he is one of the carpenters working on this job and shows some pics of the progress

Much more like 155 N Wacker (with the climbing crane) 353 N Clark used a "standard" tower crane.
155 N Wacker

I just spoke to construction worker and he confirmed what our new member stated. Barring any bad weather between now and next Saturday, there are plans for the tower crane instillation next weekend.
Is there a photo of a anywhere of this, 150 riverside, and wolf point from the west, I really would like to see an idea of the these projects impact on the skyline.
