Today, both the crane and the core were raised!

With today's jump the tower has 42 apparent floors and is 651 ft tall, surpassing the 647 ft tall Sony Building!

Two more jumps and it will reach 682 ft, the same height of the Four Seasons, so in a few days it will clear all the buildings on the inmediate vicinity.

And with three more jumps from today, it will reach 697.5 ft, almost halfway to the top.

So, a lot of milestones to break during this month.

What is the average rate at which they are raising floors?

are you sure it's nearly 650ft? It looks a lot shorter in person..

Today's perimeter forms were jumped to level 40 or 620' The core is still at level 42 or 651' Each level is 15' 6''

Frame work is at 620' and the core at 650'. So for now it looks like a solid 600 footer in the midst of the concrete jungle. Midtown (and also Downtown for that matter) has that effect where tall buildings tend to look short because there are surrounded by similar tall or even taller/bigger buildings. Just take a look at all those 700 footers - are they prominent on the skyline? Barely.

This is due to those large windows, and that's why I am not fond of this tower.

This tower will always look shorter than it is, quite ironic for the tallest in NYC.

They should have covered with glass the whole facade to mask them, exactly like they did on Trump world tower for the duplex at the top.

But who cares ? only me I guess

I know what you mean - I went to look at 432 a few weeks back and it looked small - not until a worker emerged in an empty window did the real size of this building become apparent. However, on the skyline, I think it's size will be enhanced by the comparatively "short" (600-800 foot) buildings next to it.

I am afraid that this tower will lower the whole skyline because, as you mentioned it, the comparatively "short" buildings next to it will even look smaller while this one will look smaller than it is... (I don't know if it's clear )
The Empire state and the Twin towers both enhanced the skyline thanks to their height and "small" windows.
Unfortunately, This building has not been conceived for skyscraper's fans, it has been conceived for people living inside and who won't most of the time...
Nonetheless, it's a great project (I don't want to sound too pessimistic )
