The plan would close Grafton Lane, and Cumberland Street between Kent and Grafton streets. A planned expansion of the Charlottetown campus of Holland College could mean wiping a couple of streets off the map.
The college has already announced new buildings on land it owns between the existing student residence and its classrooms on Grafton Street. It means 14 houses will disappear.
On Monday, the college said it is also looking to close Grafton Lane and a section of Cumberland Street between Kent and Grafton streets.
"We have taken extra care in the design of the buildings and in the landscape design as well to make sure that this is a very attractive campus that will enhance the neighbourhood, and I think provide a beautiful initial impression for the historic city of Charlottetown," said Mike O'Grady, who is in charge of the expansion for the college.
The first public meeting on the plan was held Monday night. A second one will take place next month (Sept 15).
The college has indicated they have a plan for additional parking and foresee no issues with parking.
If all goes well at the meetings then building will begin immediately mid Sept.

Losing a lane and a street won't hurt anyone. Nobody lives on these streets now anyway.
