I think the rogers centre is way better suited for a designated football stadium than a ball park. baseball's unique field shape demands a specialized stadium more than any other sport, and a nice ball park with a full frontal view of the skyline from home plate would be amazing.

There are a lot of big projects missing from the render including 9 buildings recently proposed that are over 200 meters. (11 if you include Cumberland Terrace)

Maldive needs to put his render drawing hat back on for 2013.

Someone needs to make a Burnaby render. Metrotown and Brentwood.

Station square in metro town.

And solo district will have huge impacts on the skyline.

That vantage point will loook amazing! I just wish that some of those taller towers would sprout up further west toward Westmount. As it is, there is plenty of highrise density there, but nothing other than shortish commie blocks.

Yeah that'd be great, but it won't ever happen for 2 reasons:

-every lot past mountain street is zoned 120m or less.
-like a glacier, the Downtown skyline is slowly creeping south. The new big ones will rise south of st-Antoine street where there are still large empty lots with lenient height restrictions.

You'd have to completely rip out the lower bowl and build it at a steeper gradient to make that a football friendly stadium. It's a disaster the way it is. You can't see a bloody thing. It's obvious that the designer had never been to a football game in his life. I think I even read that somewhere. How does that happen?

I've never been to a football game. Nor a baseball game. Or any other major league sporting event. (I've done track and field at school, that's it.)

I wouldn't mind a few 120m. In that area they'd still be pretty noticeable considering most of the buildings west of Mountain and especially west of Guy tend to be below 100m.

Yeah, everything is, except for the residential tower at Alexis Nihon Plaza. The only problem is that there are actually relatively few vacant lots west of Guy.

Actually, the 120m limit stops at Guy, and that's along René-Lévesque boulevard. Along Maisonneuve, it's 80m and at Ste-Catherine it's 65m. West of Guy, it's basically a 45m zone until you hit Atwater where it goes up to 80m.

It's a misconception among many that Toronto's skyline change has been solely residential buildings. While the majority of the construction is indeed condo and hotel development, a fair amount is also commercial.

Just for info purposes, Toronto is also adding to it's downtown office space in record numbers not seen since the late 80's/early 90's. Here's a look at what is CURRENTLY under construction, all of these projects will be finished within 2-4 years.

Bay Adelaide E (980,000)
100 Adelaide W (900,000)
Bremner Tower (700,000)
RBC Waterpark Place (930,000)
One York (780,000)
Richmond Centre Queen W (310,000)

TOTAL NEW OFFICE SPACE U/C IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO: 4,600,000 sq ft

That is on top of adding over 4,400,000 sq ft of downtown office space between 2008 and 2013. By the time this boom is done (providing no new office towers go up in Toronto by 2017), the city will have added over 9 million square feet of office space in the downtown core during the nine year span between 2008 and 2017. Not bad at all if you ask me.

Hotel is commercial.

Sure there's a few office towers among the 150 towers under construction amounting in 5 million square feet but, there also is about 35 million square feet of highrise residential under construction. If this were a single building, most would call a single use archology.
