I am also glad it's inside 1604. That's exciting.

Thank goodness. I need my Swedish fix. Drove to Round Rock IKEA yesterday and it's always a nightmare.

Very good location. Although I much preferred the previous predicted location at the Rim. Glad to see it's inside the loop.

Ate at the new Gloria's at the Rim. How come we never see any post about the happenings out there? They have one 5 story and two 4 story apartment buildings going up and they are very nice.

Everything along La Cantera from 1604 to Vance Jackson is manacured to the nines, even in this flash drought, and seems to be our answer to a, "Im moving from Plano or Orange County, where should I go?"

While it's no Plano in size or scope yet, that whole area is going bonkers. The different food options are also following. Hopefully Elian will get more going that way.

I rarely go out that way as I live downtown. But yeah, that area has turned into a beast. It's pretty cool to remember when there was nothing out there to what it is now.

How was Gloria's? And mid-rise condos about 10 stories tall would be nice for that area. New apartment complexes seem to just blend in with the rest that dominate the north loop of 1604.

Saw this on the local news several days ago, but have not seen anyone mention anything about it. A $390 million dollar tower for the medical center.

Hines to Develop First Multifamily Project in San Antonio

Quote:
October 30th 2017

(SAN ANTONIO) – Hines, the international real estate firm, announced it will develop a four-story, 380,000-square-foot, luxury multifamily project within The RIM retail power center. The development will be Hines’ first multifamily project in San Antonio and its eighth in Texas.

Located on 11.4 acres at the southwest corner of Worth and La Cantera Parkway in the northwest submarket of San Antonio, the development will offer convenient access to San Antonio’s major thoroughfares, including Interstate 10 and Loop 1604, which connect to the city’s primary employment centers.

Construction on The RIM multifamily project is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2018 with occupancy in spring 2019.

HINES THE RIM MULTIFAIMLY DEVELOPMENT │FOUR FLOORS

Hines, in partnership with meeks + partners, is developing its first san antonio multifamily property, a four-story luxury development within the rim, a 1.8 million-square-foot mixed-use development. Construction is set to begin in the first quarter of 2018 with occupancy in spring of 2019.

Quote:
Hines, a houston-based real estate firm that is the dominant landowner at the rim, plans to build a four-story luxury apartment complex at the shopping center.

The 384-unit, 11.4-acre complex will be hines’ first multifamily project in san antonio and its eighth in texas, according to a news release. Hines has accumulated roughly 140 acres of land at the rim since 2014, with 1.2 million square feet of retail space.

“when we found the opportunity to pursue a multifamily development within the rim community, we jumped at it,” hines’ managing director chris o’neill said in the release. “the area’s evolving amenities, local economics and the objectives of our investors are all lining up nicely. We are excited about this first step into the san antonio multifamily market.”

the complex will include a clubhouse, fitness center, yoga studio, pool, game room and a dog park, according to the release. It will be connected to the rim’s shops with “pedestrian-friendly streetscapes,” the release says.
Houston-based architecture firm meeks + partners is the design architect for the project.

Why do y’all care? If they even built single family housing on that side of town I’d be happy. Hopefully they get people to pay the rents.
