Now that's a slick tower. 40 storeys is the approved height, correct?

Glenora Skyline

West Block to Radically Transform Former Glenora Skyline Site

Quote:
Out of the ashes of the failed Glenora Skyline development in Edmonton, a publicly unpopular condo project which had stalled under financial difficulties back in 2011 and again in 2014, a brand new, completely redesigned project by Beaverbrook Developments, to be named West Block, is now underway. To feature three new towers, at 45, 60, and 90 metres in height, centred around a 1.4-hectare site just 80 metres away from a future LRT stop, the Glenora development, just across the Saskatchewan River from the University of Alberta and a quick commute to the city centre, will bring up to 550 units of high-density living to the site.

As indicated in all renders: shimmery silver.

As realized: Commerce Place green.

Praying that Stantec is built as rendered here. It's got a great Chicago vibe to it.

Damn, Edmonton's skyline is going to look very impressive! should cement it firmly as 4th spot in the country.

P.S. Don't tell the Montreal guys I said that, they would probably lose their shit haha.

The copy sounds a little naive, but that was also the message of the era: technology will save us tasks and give us tons of free time. Apparently, according to the note above, we should all be in apartments, robot slaves doing our work, profits being distributed equally to the couch-reclining masses...

Well it sort-of did, but instead of shipping it for export they're shipping it to Swan Hills for disposal..
