the ICCU project on the east side of downtown has been approved, although redesigned from a 16-floor/9-floor development to 13-floor/11-floor.

new rendering from Boisedev that shows the redesign.

sad that they got shorter... as the article states, the building is only 4 blocks from Boise's two tallest, and one block away from where unlimited height is allowed.

It's much bigger when you walk by than I thought it would be. I like it!

Late last week after work, I went for a hike up Eagle Ridge and had no idea that a new crane in East Downtown/Central Addition had just gone up and still under assembly.

The quality of this shot isn't the best. I did not have my tripod and using a super zoom lens, the breeze and the sun was in my view. But here it is with workers in the crane.

Boise is definitely on track to add the 1000 living units to the Central Addition of Downtown with all of the construction on numerous buildings. We need an update on The London and the Idaho Central towers and exactly how many living units they will each have.

nice update! lot going on along the east side of downtown. seems like when one crane comes down, another goes up.

here's a nice aerial photo of downtown from boisedev.com. it looks like it's probably from 2 or 3 years ago... many of the surface parking lots in the middle of the image are currently under construction with residential buildings in the 7-8 floor range. there are also a 9-floor, 13-floor, and 19-floor proposed buildings that will be on the middle-left side of this image if built.

new proposal for the West End by I-184 and the river, residential complex called The Fletcher:

Image from TVurban

The east side has been getting most of the activity lately, but this along with a couple of other proposals will really start changing the look of the west side of downtown. Eventually (hopefully) we'll see more vertical developments between the two in the city center.

new proposal just reported from Boisedev.com:

19-floor, 231-foot tall apartment building on Front and 6th, across from the new Home2Suites hotel and next to Trader Joe's/Chipotle.

called the Ovation Apartments, this would also be 1 block west of the 19-floor condo proposal in the previous post. if both are built, it would dramatically change the skyline of the east side along Front street.

no renderings as of yet.

Kinda bummed I'm not working downtown to see that. I would have been a block away, would have been a nice place to chill out.

same.

I worked about half a block away from this park for 7 years. I think it's going to be very popular.

though I thought the park stretched the full length of the block. the parking lot still offers more room for a future high-rise. in fact, many of the surrounding blocks have empty space for development, including the old greyhound station just down the street.

nice photo of the Idaho Statesman showing the transformation the Central Addition area on the southeast side of downtown.

most of the buildings along Myrtle in the foreground were built in the last few years. wasn't long ago and that entire corridor featured single-story buildings and surface parking lots.

new proposal for Garden City, just west of downtown Boise. This was originally a planned 8-story hotel, but has grown into an 18-story, 252-foot residential tower.

image from boisedev.com who broke the story:

IdahoBuildings2020 did a nice job adding some of the current and proposed projects to google to see how downtown is rapidly evolving. this includes the two 19-story condo proposals, the 13-story ICCU building, and the 27-story apartment tower proposal.
