Soon my friend. Soon.

The top of the crane-cab, winches and power unit have been removed. I asume they are doing the lifts at night.

How Have They Been Lifting Anything For Cranes Removal ???

Assemble the derrick crane and remove the hanging boom off the side of the building? Disassemble the damaged components off the crane? Lifting with what?

MAEDA mini-crane has been doing the lifting from the roof.

Elevator transported the MAEDA up to the roof. The MAEDA lifted the pieces of boom sections as they were cut off, and handled them as they were pulled into building. And removed damaged components off the top of the crane.

The MAEDA then did the lifting for the assembly of the derrick crane.

The more I look at the facade the more I start to not like it.

Not exactly a bad building but did they really have to make it so tall? It's too big and bulky. It disrupts the nice flow of the midtown skyline from Central Park.

You realize there are much taller towers planned and u/c in the immediate area, right?

No, it doesn't disrupt the flow of the skyline. If anything, it enhances that view. And it's not a bulky building at all.

Yeah, and I'm even more upset about those. I don't really see a reason why they need to build so tall. A lot of them are pretty ugly.
