Keep in mind that this tower, like the ESB gets a height change from an observer's standpoint at sea level due to the elevation. So when viewing the skyline from lets say the ramp heading into Broad Street in Newark (Awesome location if you pull onto the shoulder lane to view it), everything gets a slight height bump, especially midtown which has some elevation boost due to its geography. When viewing the ESB from sea level, from ground to pinnacle its 1550 feet. Depending on the area and tower, theres a slight inflation of height, which can make it seem slightly bigger than it is. One57 for example is something like 50 plus feet above sea level. I think its pretty cool and a nice quality for the island to have as it makes its epic skyline even more grandiose compared to other cities where they are flat.

Even if its not exactly at 0', in the case of the ramp example, from a far, depending on the location, everything could appear 50 - 80' or so feet taller.

^ Yeah, it's pretty neat. F.e., and iirc, Nordstrom will be 1,855' EL to the spire. That thing will even have a greater impact than 432 PA ...

Any word on confirmed ownership of this building? I'm hearing more and more foreign ownership. Curious if it gets posted anywhere as to the percentage that are actually American? I know shell company usage for purchase is the norm these days so that could make it a little tougher to confirm but I'm guessing this is going to end up at least 2/3 foreign owned.

NYGUY these pics from the other side of the pond are definitely the best perspective on this building yet.

About half the buyers are American, per the developer. So the building will be around half foreign-owned.

Notwithstanding the media hype, most high end real estate in New York is bought by locals. It isn't really like other markets, where the fancy buildings are mostly foreign-owned real estate.

Such an insult to the NY skyline.
