^Wow, good explanation and i'm not being sarcastic.

I think i'm more impressed by Trump than you are but i'm not in love with it either, even in it's incredibly uninspired surroundings.

As for B-A, it's tall and sleek so i'd give it a pass for that, but not much more.

Thanks, my analysis of buildings has gotten a lot more in depth than it used to be

"Incredibly uninspired surroundings"

What!?! It's in one of the most beautiful and impressive urban settings in Canada, even the world. The bank towers may not be wild and wacky, but their quiet and sleek sense of opulence is very atmospheric none-the-less.

It's an elevation view, there is no perspective. It's from the diagrams, Tony drew it - http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?drawingID=36698

He did a really good job considering the only images we ever saw of the design were line drawings in elevation view.

The third design for BA1 was to be mixed-use office and residential.

Yes, I now recall seeing that in diagrams some years back. Something about the drawing is off, but maybe it's because the midsection is so awkward with its jumble of shapes and ill-suited elevation differentials.

There is/was a pretty wicked model of version 3 here in downtown Edmonton at Canapen.

  • Deloitte has signed on to be the anchor tenant of BAC - 2
  • Project should begin construction in the fall

Brookfield Pursuing Bay Adelaide Centre East Tower with Deloitte

Brookfield Properties announced today that a new 44-storey office tower will join its neighbour Bay Adelaide Centre West in the heart of Toronto's financial district, and Deloitte has signed on as its anchor tenant. Bay Adelaide Centre East will contain approximately 980,000 square feet of space, 420,000 square feet or 43% of which will be leased by Deloitte.

However, I see now that we're getting another glass box. Good density filler, but nothing otherwise to get excited about.

Wow, Toronto is on fire! Interesting, though, that those two renders completely ignore Trump.

Toronto...one of my favorite cities on the planet. I love how it's urban setting is becoming one of the architectural marvels of the world.

Bay Adelaide looks like Herald Square's twin in Calgary! No wonder Brookfields HS in Calgary applied for for a re-design.

The renderings we have for this project are confusing. The aerial render actually shows a small indent in The corners of the buildings, but the night render doesn't.

There's discussion on the Trump Toronto thread about B-A being another boring box, but might add interest if it had, say, red glass.
This got me thinking, what would the whole completed B-A complex look like if each building had completely different coloured glass. For example, one blue, one red, one black or silver. If you could choose the glass colour, what would you go for? I like the idea of one tower being red.

It would remind me of the Pacific Design Center in L.A.

There is also a huge blue building that isn't visible in the above photo.

I like those colours, something along those lines would look great on a building around 200m high.
