Great pics, but I believe you mean Carmarthen Street/Elliott Row, not Metcalf.

These pictures are of the JD Irving parking garage and are not part of the Irving Oil home office project. The Irving Oil parking garage will be behind the old courthouse on the corner of Sydney and King St East. This area is now fenced off.

The JDI garage will match their existing building quiet nicely.

You're gonna have to find an image host that isn't Photobucket; they're not allowing remote linking anymore.

Talking

Too bad it wasn’t half as wide, and twice as tall.

The footprint isn't too bad for the building itself (although I have issues with the huge walled parking lot they will be putting along Princess toward the corner with Charlotte), but yeah it is pretty squat looking. It could have been a bit more elegant if had a bigger step-back after the third floor and therefore had a narrower and taller profile from there upward.

I really like the glass centre portion of the Sydney Street side, that will end up being the best part of the building IMO because it breaks up the slab-sided feel and draws your view up.

I’m pretty sure I saw the same type of glass going up on the opposite side beside imperial theatre

It's such a prominent addition to the skyline. I wish we had 5 more like it going up!

Love it. Makes me wonder what Moncton would have looked like built on Lutes Mountain instead of on the Petitcodiac River floodplain.
