That would be part of their ownership change, I noticed the lot next to the old Ecole Champlain went from platinum to Colliers, although it remains under the same name (Rosaire, I forget his last name). But I believe this one on Northwood (I think that's the name) across from the Hampton was not previously listed with anyone.

I don't know what would fit in next to residential properties and across from a car dealership, a hotel and behind a motel.... you're not exactly talking high traffic volume. All I can see going there, and for that matter at 173 Mapleton, are self storage lots

Unless a developer has purchased the land in that area, as it has come up for sale for a massive development/redevelopment plan.

As for the land on Mill Rd They could fit some apartment buildings but they would have to be one behind the other. Both lots on Mill seem to be big enough to fit a couple of buildings each with parking to one side.

as for 173 Mapleton someone had already found out that you could fit a restaurant the size of Skipper Jack, or even potentially a Drive tru.

Nice aerial perspective.

I can't help but notice that the construction site shows the hotel at a different orientation than the initial site plan

I recall hearing that the plans for a gas station on the site have been put on hold. It'll be interesting to see what other changes in this development have been made. Councillor Greg Turner did hint recently that there would still be two restaurants on site.

The old Lily Buffet building on Mountain Rd. is being torn down as of yesterday. I don't believe it ever showed as being sold so I don't know if anything is planned on replacing it.

A quick overlay of the site map with the aerial photo, it's off a bit but it gives you an idea.

Da-yam! Impressive indeed. It really shows the layout of the lot and where things are going to be going; especially with the current construction to give the right sense of scale.

Thanks, I used the distort tool (and a bit of the warp tool) in Photoshop.

I also just updated the image so that site drawing better fits the photo and a better representation of sizes etc.

Well good job it does show that previous plans could still fit despite the changes to the hotels position.

Jack Astor's

Heard through a friend whose son is working on-site at the Holiday Inn site is Jack Astor's is confirmed. Looking at site in person, still hard to see how the development could still include 2 restaurants and the hotel. I walk the trail in behind and the survey line's back corner is easily found and unless they excavate more of the hill away space will be tight.

Glad to hear about Jack Astor's. The rumours about this particular chain seem pretty hot and heavy, so I assume that Jack's is pretty well confirmed.

Personally, I'm holding out hope for Milestone's as well. The original render showed two side by side restaurants, which would somewhat decrease the footprint required for the building. Councillor Greg Turner in a post a couple of months ago also seemed to hint that two restaurants for the site were still in the cards, so we'll see.

The restaurant on the left looks like Jack Astor's. The restaurant on the right could be Milestone's..........

Someone had said they seen the old Lily's Buffet being knocked down. I found out that they are selling the lot at over half a mill, Ready to develop. I'm guessing the building was in to bad a shape to sell the lot, and building, and then have someone renovate it.

New culvert at Westbrook Circle. Hopefully this will dispense with any flooding issues.

I know it's been a long time in the works. I'm happy for the people of Westbrook Circle. IIRC, this could only be put in after all the CN stuff further downstream was taken care of, right?
