318 N Carpenter - 1040 W Fulton

June 8

318 is the gray building with blue highlights - 1040 is the horrid pattern from the 21st century.

Northbridge - ageing well

June 11

Not a new project, but not that old, wish more projects could pull of a facade like this.

Isn't that a weird building where they took facade from a 20/30s building but wrapped it around a new building? I could be wrong on the history.

Still waiting on a 1200 ft tower on the parking lot behind it but im sure we'll get the 600 footer proposal, knowing the way this city trashes the remaining few prime sites we have for height.

^ Don't really see why a 1200 footer is necessary right there considering it's right across the street from trump. Unless you like your 120 footers all bunched up together. I for one like mine spread out a bit. Besides, there's plenty more sites (more suitable ones) available in the surrounding area for 1200+ footers. I do agree anything 600 ft or below would be a let down though.

You may be thinking of the Ritz Carlton a few blocks north

I got excited for a brief moment the other day when I saw the McDonald's up here in Lincoln square had been ripped down.

Sadly, it will be replaced by another shitty-ass suburban style McD's that will take a dump upon my neighborhood for another generation or two.

Why does McDonald's suck so hard?

That sucks. It's taking up such a great location.

How many blocks of land that size literally a half block off Michigan Avenue? One could argue this anything less than 800ft would be a total let down.

Why only a half mile? There are numerous large lots, parking garages, and low-flung/underutilized buildings within a 5 to 7 block radius of Trump tower that could support a Supertall. You can find at least half a dozen spots east of Michigan alone. The Loop has several big parking garages that I hope will eventually make way for new Supertalls (would love a new tallest in the Loop) in the future.

Ideally, I'd like to see a two tower situation, similar in height to the current 400 N. LSD proposal, go in the lot behind trump.

Doesn't look like a super tall is planned. From Pepper Constructions website.

With how many white/beige buildings are nearby, hopefully something with blue or green glass is built with multiple setbacks a la OC or NEMA.

Nobody said it was a parking podium. One Chicago has a huge podium but most of it is active space - retail, fitness, some residential, etc.

Also with the multi-level streets in this area there's always gonna be some kind of podium.
