You guy can't recognize your own cultural traits in media when they're right in front of you!

another good example of highly canadian oriented content sold successfully globally would be 'The Corporation', which explains how evil american corporations ruined the world (no other countries have corporations), bowling for columbine (since Moore is from Michigan and has that scene with visiting Americans marvelling at the beautitude of Windsor Ontario, also mass shootings only happen in the US)..I could probably think of a couple others.

Non-annoying examples would be Heavy Metal, the greatest Canadian movie.
Right because villian corporations are only American... no native Americans were killed in Canada.... The fossil fuel industry is practically non existent in Canada because they are very liberal and they truly care about the environment 🙄.

A bit related: last week I started to watch that Netflix show with Jane Fonda, Gracie & Frankie. Very light stuff, to rest a bit in the midst of this pandemic.

Anyway, it's set in San Diego. On the first episode I've mistaken La Jolla for Malibu but then they stated clearly where it's set. Even though I know they have those classic Californian qualities, I've always found the city dull, with Denver one of the most forgettable metro areas, but by what they showcase in the series, it seems a quite pleasant place. Not my cup of tea, not big, urban enough, but still.

made me love not only cities, but also getting on roofs, menacing people with a goalie stick, and asking Sam Rockwell for cigarettes.

I recently watched La Dolce Vita and it made me fall in love with Rome all over again. There was a specific kind of glamour the city had in the 1950s and the movie really shines a spotlight on it.
