Wow, great angles in the Adam Palva pix from NYGuy, especially the last two, which I haven't seen before. Makes you really appreciate the massive footprint of 30 Hudson Yards. Can't wait for this to pierce the skyline!

no concrete core. The steel "core" is on the side, you can kinda make it out, it is the area on the left where the steel is slightly thicker and closer together.

I get the idea of no core, but where are the elevator banks? Are those on the outside as well?

That video I posted about a month ago shows that there will be 2 cores. It starts on the side and then transitions to a more traditional core.

I'm very relieved to hear that the (7) line will connect directly to the Hudson Yards concourse, since a sheltered connection between popular transit and retail/dining/offices is absolutely vital to a large complex like this (if you'll forgive the hyperbole).

I also can't express just how exciting it is to witness an entirely new neighborhood rising from the ground up, on a scale even grander than that of the Port Authority's World Trade Center projects of the '60s and '00s.

Keep in mind that there are other large office towers in the area, including Manhattan West, 50 Hudson, the Spiral. All will be within the range of the 7 train, and also Penn Station, with it's multiple rail and subway lines.

An underground pedestrian tunnel leading to Penn Station would be nice, with moving walkways or something. Otherwise, that (7) train will be totally packed in bad weather.

I think the 7 is going to be packed regardless. But people coming in through Penn Station won't take the 7 either way. It's doubtful most people coming in through the Port Authority bus terminal would use it. There's just a tendancy to walk in Manhattan, especially when the destination is only a stop or two away. It's just more convenient.

New Yorkers don't need moving walkways. People walk for blocks to the Port Authority, Grand Central, and Penn Station. Long distances. It would probably be nice for some, but hardly essential for a city like New York.
