Yeah, I drove by there this morning and thought that my mind was playing tricks on me.

Deadly! I hope they use the front parking lot as a patio.

I have been keeping tabs on this one over the past little while as my buddy is one of the architects at MoDa. From what I have seen and heard the space is amazing. The started with a friends and family event on last week and have been doing soft openings. Official opening is the 27th. Excited to check this one out! Initial reviews have been positive

I'm not 100% sure as they don't have any signage declaring it open but I think Bru is now open. Are open for business signs a SJW trigger?

At the bottom of the Mark building is going "Sucre" Cafe and Patisserie and "Nam" vietnamese restaurant.

Underneath the Goodlife on 17th avenue is going "Forks and Salads" which is beside the Tim Horton's.

Naina's Kitchen posted on Twitter this week that they are moving to the east end of 17th Ave where Villa Maria is now - hoping to open by September. I've been meaning to try them for quite a while now so I'm excited to see them moving so close to me. Hopefully more interesting businesses make their way to this part of 17th with the new streetscape upgrades the city is doing.

I hadn't heard about this, but I really like the idea. It would be nice top see something done with that eye sore, and a nice quaint looking pub would be fantastic.

They better have seating made from rich Corinthian leather.

Sorry to see her leave the hood, but I'm happy to hear she's moving to a bigger space. Give her some business. It's refreshing to see someone take a chance and succeed. Safe to say she didn't have the budget for menu planers, interior designers or access to focus groups or the money to travel NA stealing the best parts of successful restaurants.

Walked past Osteria this morning. Looks like Fusion sushi is moving in (not sure if Osteria is staying in the north half of the building?)

Sorry to disappoint, but it's a rum bar with a small Latin and Carribean influenced menu (empanadas, jerk chicken, curry goat, etc.)

I took the same picture on the weekend to post it in here....

Stopped in at Hayden Block for some BBQ on Canada Day. The brisket is fantastic and the homemade sauces are divine. Highly recommend trying it out if you are a fan of smoke.

Anyone been to Trolley on 17th yet? Drove past over the weekend and it was packed. Reminded me of the old days with Melrose there always full.

Also I hear there is a Nandos going up somewhere on 17th, is this true?

Anyone know what's happening at the old Cheesecake Factory at Northland. Construction fencing up making it look like a new tenant rather than just empty.

It looks like The Guild on Stephen Ave is almost ready to open. The construction hoarding is down, the patio is being setup and it looked like they were training the staff last night. The patio will be really cool under the overhang of The Bay building.

Yes, it's true. By the recently relocated H&R Block.

I went to Hayden Block in Kensington tonight (old yardhouse location). Highly recommend. Probably the best pulled pork I have had in years. check it: plus half off meat past 10pm as they like to do fresh stuff everyday.
