Urban Orlando - Thornton Park Area

The Thornton Park area is located on the east side of downtown Orlando/Lake Eola area. This area continues to redevelop and has become a very popular neighborhood.

Some of the single family residential in the neighborhood.

Cool to see what looks like a turn of the century neighborhood in a Sun Belt boom town. Do any of those single family houses have basements? Thanks for sharing these!

A nice area. I visited several years ago with a friend who used to live in Thornton Park back in the mid/late 90s. The neighborhood has some cute shops & restaurants and I especially love its collection of craftsman bungalows mixed in among the stately live oaks!

Looks calm and safe, why Orlando is dangerous as report says?

I don't know about the demographics of the area, but some of the pics remind me of Houston's Montrose redevelopment, and other pics remind me of the Heights.

Looks good. Love those old homes.

Most do not. If they did it would be an underground swimming pool.

Much of Orlando is very safe. A lot of the crime takes places in selected neighborhoods. Also, the city's crime stats are a little miss leading since the area is dealing with about 60 million tourist that are included in those numbers. That affects the data a lot.
