These are from this summer, but I thought I would post them again since I have re-edited them for my website.

Enjoy!

Please, No! It would be nice to see that facility tidied up some, but railroads are one of the fundamental elements in Chicago's history and identity.

I love Millennium Park, and the new Randolph Street Station kicks butt, but ever since the platforms were covered over, I've pined for the nighttime city views from there. When arriving via South Shore trains, the view before going under the park is still an important part of the Chicago experience.

I remember this thread from last summer. What can you say about Chicago's skyline that hasn't already been said? It's so clearly the top of class. Chicago's skyline takes my breath away each time I visit. Thanks for reposting, KC!

I could be mistaken, but I believe he took these photos in April 2006.

Genuine thanks for these KCg. Really superb quality and i thoroughly enjoyed them

I think in a way it is Chicago's relative lack of density when compared to one or two other leading Skyscraper towns that is its unique strenght. Each building seems to have it's own area and thus is able to stand out and be seen without being totally overshadowed by the half dozen real titans or crowded out by a sea of 200 to 230 metre neighbours. I suggest KC's images help make this point.

for example the relatively short - relative to the Hancock for instance - Park Tower is one of my fave Chicago scrapers. it is about 252 metres. Tall but not supertall. It would be a bit lost in a truly dense genuine scraper skyline but in Chicago it has its own place in the scheme of things. There is a gigantic harmony about Chicago which is its unique selling point as a premier league 'scraper town. I think it is wonderful.
