Thank you.

Speaking for the port................

Citys official are voting on whether or not to build a new port across the Bay to make room for expanding the financial district. The original port (built in 1960) though acceptable, was built right smack in the Downtown area. More companies are pushing to get into the Financial District, but there is simple no room.

If they decide to move the port, the land where the port stand nows will harbor new class "A" office buildings, two hotels (5 and 4 star), more retail, more dining, a park, and a new stock exchange.

A new state of the art port will be built across the bay, allowing room for more ships to dock, and more room for cargo.

I will let you know what the final desicion is.

Until then, here is a pic of the current skyline:
scroll>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That shot was taken for Shoreside Park.

Important: I have decided to make the twins of the BIBC 100 floors as oppose to 120 floors for proportional reasons (and 1600 ft). That also means that the AON Center wil be 80 floors as oppose to 90.

More updates to come soon. Enjoy!

BREAKING NEWS!-From News Radio: WKIB Bradenburg....

Mayor Collins has announced that the city council has voted to move Port BrandenBurg accross the Brandenburg Bay.

The descion will allow the expansion of the Financial district (new buildings, hotels, stock exchange, and a park), as well as a new state of the art Port.

The council is also considering a new suspension that would spand from the new area of the financial District to Stadium City across the Bay in West Brandenburg. The Bridge would reduce traffic over the Vanderbuilt Crossing, allowing commutes to be much short. A toll booth is also being considered on both sides of the new bridge to bring in revenue for the city.

This has been a special report from- News Radio: WKIB Brandenburg

NICE. Tip: Make floors on tall buildings or ones you really like that way they can stand out more and make your city seem more realistic.
Good job i really like the freeway and the layout of the city.

Ok, here is an update.

These pictures show you the Brandenburg Convention Center (built back in 2002). In addition to the convention center, is the Convention Center Plaza, complete with retail, dining, station, u/g parking, a 5 star Hotel (with a rooftop olympic sized swimming pool), a botanical garden, and an office building (with trading floors). You will also notice the helipad ontop of the convention center. This center was considered a major role in strengthening the cities economy.

You will also notice the 5 star, ultra luxury Affinian Belmont Hotel, built back in 1930. The Affinian Belmont is a world renowned luxury hotel, where many famous people have stayed. Consider this hotel the Waldorf Astoria/The Plaza of Brandenburg.

Here is a bonus shot of the narrow two lans streets of Brandenburg:

In the above pic you can see some Downtown buildings overhead aswell as Basin Park.

More to come soon. Enjoy!

I just showed you one.

Yeah, the streets are narrow. What I'll do is widen them in Mid-Town, but keep them how they are in Downtown.

Ok, here is an update and the Downtown revitalization project.

City officials have decided to build a tunnel as oppose to the suspension bridge. They feel though costly, a tunnel would work better since a port will be right across the bay. The tunnel will have eight lanes (four in each direction) in addition to a toll booth. The tunnel will connect the new Financial area to Stadium City accross the bay in West Brandenburg.

The new buildings for the Financial district have been decided on and construction dates have been set. They will include 5 class "A" office buildings, a 5 star Hotel, underground concourse connecting all of the buildings, above and below grade malls, a new transit hub, and a park.

The new port is still in the design phases.

Here is a pic of the tunnel (a portion of it built so far). You will also notice the Brandenburg DOT HQ next to the tunnel. (I also am currently making the roads wider, so you will notice some of them had been changed).
scroll>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Tonight I'll post an update of the completion of the new Financial area. Until then Enjoy!

I like your idea about the tunnel. But maybe you should get rid of the toll both. It would create traffic hell is it's the only way to get across the river!!!

I say keep the toll booth!! because, the bottom line is what Aleks said, it's the only access, so people will pay the toll because they have to get in or out. it will only benefit the city providing much revenue!

There are two ways across the bay:

1. The Vanderbuilt Crossing (suspension bridge w/ no toll)
2. The Brandenburg Bay Tunnel ( tunnel w/ toll)

Or you can swim.

Agreed on the revenue. The city just spent a few billion dollars to construct a mega project, so a many cars paying a toll could help pich in.
