Here's the site in a little more context. The housing portion should end up being near center and the office portion to the back-left.

Seattle apartment skyscraper will be three projects in one

Quote:
The developer of a 41-story luxury apartment project in Seattle is casting a wide net to catch tenants with different tastes — and budgets.
The tower, going up next to the Tilt49 office tower now under construction at 1812 Boren Ave., features a mix of styles. They range from exposed concrete ceilings and an industrial vibe in the lower levels, to penthouses with condo-quality finishes and high open ceilings up top. In between will be units with upgraded finishes but standard ceiling heights.

Prices, he said, will increase as you move up in the building.

Construction of the 393-unit tower began last summer and is scheduled to be done in 2017. On Saturday, general contractor Mortenson Construction, an affiliate of Mortenson Development, poured 4,500 cubic yards of concrete – enough to fill one-and-a-half Olympic-sized swimming pools – for the tower's foundation. Now that that's done, the tower will start rising.

The tower is part of a crop of new apartment projects, including one where units go for as much as $7,525 a month, designed to appeal to the employees of Amazon and other tech companies. Amazon employs 24,000 people in Washington state, with the vast majority of them working at the company's Seattle headquarters.

Tilt 49 Project to Host Modern Offices and Apartments

Quote:
A Seattle block bounded by Boren and Minor Avenues is receiving a significant density upgrade. Projects like the Kinects Tower on Stewart Street are extending the city core to the north, creating new neighbourhoods for people looking for an urban lifestyle. On the lot just beside the Kinects Tower, a mixed-use development now under construction promises to modernize the area.

This is turning out strikingly similar to the renderings.

Better I'd say.

This is getting to be quite a dense block -- two acres with substantial office space, over 776 housing units between the two towers (the latest angle hides the unrelelated 40-story Kinects apartment tower that's across the alley and opening soon, plus there's a remaining site that plans a small hotel and a couple old storefronts remaining.

Mortenson workers set up post-tension cables on the Residence Inn by Marriott project. AMLI Arc rises on the right and Kinects tower is on the left.

The final beam was raised into place earlier this month at AMLI Arc.
