The Brick Mattress Store in Westhills is open, even though the exterior isn't done. There two other lots are still empty.

Was at TD Square this afternoon and the fire alarm went off. I thought it was a false alarm but the voice on the P.A. said to evacuate as it was a real fire situation or something to that affect. Couldn't have been too big. Speaking of big, that skylight is going to be massive. The entire span is visible from inside Eaton's Square.

I was looking for dress clothes today, received excellent service at Henry Singer's and dreadful service at Harry Rosen's. Completely ignored, sure I may look like a felon, but I had cash and I was looking to spend it.

Left Rosen's and then remembering it was a recession, I said screw the expensive suit and went to the Bay where I had fantastic service, bought 2 sport coats, 2 shirts, 2 ties plus a pair of cargo shorts for roughly $460 and a total savings of $266.

Nice deal.

I deal with Michael when I go to Harry Rosen (not sure if he's still there, as it has been awhile) He's always helped me out and has done a good job.

That being said, I'm dying to check out O'Connors across the street. I've heard good things, and perhaps a bit less expensive?

They are indeed the same company.
There's an Indigo at the corner of 17ave & 8st, but I haven't been inside yet.

Quiznos is already in the Core in the expanded area of the food court, beside the Arbys. (Opposite A&W and all the other places)

They used to be out by the Devonian gardens until they had to close. Where are you thinking?

When you go up the escalator to the food court, turn to the right instead of to the left.

Man, the best part of having moved to Calgary is that "dress clothes" means I go to Old Navy for my jeans instead of K-Mart. They don't treat me badly at Old Navy, as it looks like I have more money than all of their customers combined (the fact that I showered that day makes me customer #1).

Thanks for the info

I just hope when the Core is complete they do something about the hours, I think the days of closing at 6 most days are long gone, and if you want business the first basic step is to be open!

I haven't had to play dress-up for ages, so I'm don't mind doing it now. It makes me feel like an adult.

O'Connor's is far better than Harry Rosen in my mind. Better service than you'll find anywhere in the city and better product as well. I doubt it's less expensive however, in fact it might even be more expensive.

O'Connor's used to be on 7th Avenue, behind the old LRT Station at 1st Street. SW

Ironically I used to get dressed up much more often as a child, and did in fact wear the whole shirt and tie thing for most of my early career (teens/early-mid 20s). So to me it's always made me feel "young" to dress like that. Your comment is far more normal than my experiences though.

First, my username is not "honeyroasted," the mods are fucking with me.

Second, that's just an "indigo Spirit," not anywhere near a full-sized Indigo. We still desperately need at least one proper large-format store in the core or somewhere inner city.

I live across the street from O'Connors and it is nice and has good service but I personally find a lot of the items more suited to my father and his friends then myself.

Rusty van Reddick was what I requested! Google it.

I'd been over "furrycanuck" since forever.

The steel for the sign of the Best Buy in Westhills is going up. It's massive.

I don't recall that character on SCTV and I was a huge fan of the show. Dementia is finally setting in.
