Having a truck ramp on Carlton and windows lining the wall on Edmonton facing the hydro substation seems like a poor plan. It would have been better to have those reversed as there is at least hope that Carlton might one day have more development happen.
The additional setback on the corner is also really odd. Perhaps it is meant to give east bound York traffic turning onto south bound Carlton better sightlines for pedestrians who may be attempting to cross that intersection instead of having the building built up close to the corner?
Edit: the render higher up on this page appears to be the view from the surface lot on the southeast corner of Carlton and York. On the west side of the Convention Centre there is no surface lot on York and the northeast corner has a tall office building and the wrong perspective.
