What is that building in the foreground being constructed?

This is to bad for central park, but most of the visitors will be focusing on the skyline from that angle.

It is indeed...and it has just as much an impact as I thought it would. 610' is pretty decent filler for midtown in certain spots.

Baccarat is 640 ft.

But yeah, decent side-street filler.

Thanks to Funkyskunk2!

New rendering showing 432 PA, One57 and Torre Verre. Now imagine 107W57th and 225W57th in that view!

Great skyline view, but 432 PA looks almost laughable. Did the developers not understand that if you go that high, surpassing the architectural icons of NY, you should try to build something else than an ugly 1400 foot box? god-awful.

No, the brilliant architect made something ground-breaking and uncompromising----so, of course it's not to everyone's taste. This is the real thing.

It's a fine piece of minimalist architecture. What's with this childish mentality of calling eveything that isn't a whacky disorienting shape an 'ugly box'? This isn't Dubai or China. And what's stopping this from becoming an icon itself?

yeah i absolutely love it. uncompromising is a good way to put it. howard rourke would approve and i believe the appropriate internet meme to apply here would be 'deal with it' lol!

all opinion of course and i can see why some people wont like such a stark, prominent bldg, but some wont like tower verre either. like amanda burden ha.

Well, I guess we'll soon see. Maybe it will make more sense with more company at the 1000+ level.

Anyhow the Tower Verre kicks ass.

Slightly OT: I hope they change their minds about leaving TV's apex unilluminated. Ditto the zigzags on the facade.
Or is this not official, because I haven't seen a nighttime view of ithe building till now?

Is it known if 432 Park Avenue will have an observation deck? If they will have one, they should put it on the roof like on Tower 2 in the old World Trade Center. Imagine the view from the roof..
