I must say, the reflective glass sort of makes up for this building's, ahem, short comings.

Looks like we might see that shiny metal facade cover that blank wall soon.

This photo makes me glad that our Trulocks didn't turn out like the one in Uptown Dallas with a massive surface parking lot.

It is very Domain-y, or by the highway-esque if you like. It's not horrible, but it isn't downtown material. This is one of those moments when I look at a building and ask myself: is this building memorable enough that it could become a landmark that visitors to Austin would be excited to see, or even upon seeing it, would they be? It's not horrible, but thinking back to the days of film cameras when you only had a finite amount of film in your pocket to work with, I probably wouldn't have taken a picture of this building, and instead saved my film for more interesting and iconic buildings that would help me remember my trip to this place. But still, if it were at the Domain, but I'd be like, whoa, that's a tall building for this area. But downtown, meh.

^ That's a fair assessment, I think. It certainly looks like a lot of freeway buildings in DFW or North 281 in San Antonio.

It's not an ugly building, it's just so boring and unremarkable. I think its biggest problem right now is that it stands out because while it's not very tall it's surrounded by one and two story buildings and surface lots. Hopefully if Hotel ZaZa, 405 Colorado, and 416 Congress get built this will fade into the background as filler.

I agree with everyone, but as a filler building, I don't hate it, from a ground level from the street view, it will be pretty cool, from a distance skyline add, it sucks.

Looking down from 7th today this building looks the same as the Colorado, same glass and feel. Its like the people who built the Colorado realized they made a boo boo and should of made there's taller. So they just built a second building instead.

Too funny! But it's a pretty good explanation of this thing's origins.

I like the theory that it could be vertically expanded. It really is a decent building, and it's begging for a nice topper.

Agree it's very similar in parts of the surface, but in form it is critically missing the cool dual-building effect seen from the southwest (e.g. Butler park)

PS. Edit as a side note, you can quickly gauge Butler Park photo date if Frost shaft is visible, in which case it is <=2015.
