Given how much higher the river now is, I expect some significant damage to the bridge.

Where did you get the information about Brookfield? I just talked to my boss and apparently we're still gonna be open tomorrow (a brookfield tower in the potential flood zone, 5th Ave)

The rivers in Calgary won't crest until the a.m. hours. We won't know the true extent of the damage until then.

exactly, especially if flooding is going to reach all the way to 6th Avenue. That is crazy. That's like 40% of the financial core.

But at least it's a colourful bridge

BTW, un-freaking-believable the colour of the river and the amount of debris floating in it. Yes lots and lots of trees, but park benches, picnic tables, road hazard barriers, basically anything that floats ...

I got kicked out of my office on west 4th around 6:45 and told to get my car out of the parkade immediately. The parking elevator had already failed by the time I got to the lobby and when I got to my car the sumps were deafening.

I was planning on working through the weekend, so this is really, really annoying.

I wonder what my chances of getting into the Beltline from the south tomorrow are? I have a ton of work to do and unfortunately cannot work from home.

I have a feeling that the CTrain and Macleod Trail bridges might be underwater tomorrow.

A friend who works in a Brookfield building got an email from them. I just heard everything north of 6 Av downtown will be closed tomorrow. Good luck! I hope your boss makes it in on time.

Oh, we're on 6th Ave, just on the south side(Suncor Energy Centre). So I guess that's why we're not closed LAME!!!!
