This is one of the rare instances where the vacant lot is preferable to what stood there.

The H20 Plus building was ugly as ugly could be, and belonged more off a highway ramp in Elk Grove Village than in this urban location

It's also an example of a picture that just 6 years ago would have looked almost blank. The Parker, 150 N Riverside, and 727 W Madison wouldn't have been there.

I don't think it was ever intended to be more than a quick tilt-up industrial building. Are there really any industrial users out there who really invest in architecture these days?

To the extent that industrial users go above and beyond with their buildings, it usually applies more to sustainability measures like solar/wind, green roofs, etc. And those are usually companies who already have sustainability as part of their ethos.

Oh, I'm not questioning "why?"

I'm just saying "bye!"

Looks like Onni is taking another run at 353 W Grand. Guess they learned their lesson. Got a letter from Reilly's office.

38 story, 356 units, 284 parking spaces. Think it's a touch bigger than the previous attempt.

Community meeting 6/18 @ 6PM at the East Bank Club.

Yea, its too much but I'm unsure if this will have retail in the proposal. I'll forgive it if so.

We could really use a small grocery, a City Target, or something like that around this corner of RN.

^Same reason a big Tesco does. To attract people who buy enough stuff at one time to make the store profitable.
