In Denmark, Ambitious Plan for Electric Cars

Published: December 1, 2009

By NELSON D. SCHWARTZ

Quote:
COPENHAGEN — Is saving $40,000 at the showroom enough to get drivers behind the wheel of an electric car? With a program in the works to add easy access to charging stations, Denmark is about to find out.

- For all their potential, electric cars have always been the subject of more talk than action, and only a handful are on the road in Denmark. But now the biggest Danish power company is working with a Silicon Valley start-up in a $100 million effort to wire the country with charging poles as well as service stations that can change out batteries in minutes.

Who really cares of the 'new' models, when nobody has money to buy it? Keep yours then for a while if you like it. Let they doing whatever for nobody.

the difference is that the fog lamps looked just fine, but big ass chromy pieces of plastic look tacky.

Compare the two... the European one looks better. it's not like it completely ruins the car or anything... but all they had to do was leave it alone!

it reminds me of the stupid chrome fake fender vent they put on the focus at first:

I actually think the chrome fog lights (while not something I would directly look at while buying a car) I think actually flows with the Fiesta's trapezoidal front end. I do wish the US's front end was as large as the European version. But no worries. The Fiesta will be a hot selling car. Both the hatch and sedan.

And yes...the Focus is a extremely ugly car but no matter. We're getting the Euro Focus sometime next year.

you're right it does flow well with that character line stretching across the side of the body. but i think they probably could have done it without a big ass piece of chrome.... it's not an escalade!

yeah the euro focus is so much better than the us version that it's not even funny. after that arrives, i think ford is going to have one of the best lineups in the industry. the only vehicle that i don't have high hopes for is the new explorer. it's going to be unibody... they already have the escape, edge and flex. the explorer was different because it was a true body on frame truck... but once it goes unibody, what's the point of it?

How much will this M Colt costing? US$ 3000, if so, then ok. At rear remembers me some kind of Peugeot 206 if i am not wrong, is the same platform? I saw it and did not made me a Wow.

I am also one that still not going to plan buying a car, but i see nothing wrong with the Fiesta. Actually like the guys said above, it is more harmonic with side lines, but this not say i am the one who likes those trapezoidal forms. The biggest problem i still see the mirror placed, not anymore in this Triangle of side windows in A-pillar, which i think fits better. Now, this tendency putting back in doors, for me, seems strange the look this very small triangle side window in front. Back to 80ies? Or is that to suppose more visibility then?

Toyota to expand the Prius brand
by Peter Valdes-Dapena, senior writerJanuary 11, 2010: 2:20 PM ET

Detroit (CNNMoney.com) -- The Toyota Prius, America's most popular hybrid car, will become a family of vehicles, Toyota announced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit Monday.

Toyota made the announcement at its unveiling of the FT-CH small hybrid concept car.

The new Prius brand will take years to develop, said Bill Reinert, Toyota's national manager for advanced technology.

The Prius cars would all be unique hybrid-only vehicles, not hybrid versions of exisitng cars . . . .

^ The same thing is happening at Dodge. Ram is going to become it's own brand. Names that are being tossed around as names for future Ram models are Laramie, Prospector, and Western Sky.

BMW is slipping into the relm of rental car status in terms of design. At least with Chris Bangle, he designed some interesting if not controversial designs (see the last 7 Series).

2011 BMW 5 Series

I'll take an Audi A6 over this thing any day.

Yuck! That is horrible, looks like a Buick.

They could have at least mounted the rear fascia in such a way that they don't need those little round plastic plugs to cover up the bolts.
