Yes, the video was public, but it looks like someone at Tucker Hi-Rise or MOD Developments got concerned and reserved access to the video.

Sad, Sad News with regards to Massey Tower.

from interchage at UT
Quote:
I've been in touch with a number of people about this today.

In fact the building is being held up for the moment by an appeal at the OMB, brought on behalf of the off-shore owners of 205 Yonge Street, which is the vacant Bank of Toronto building immediately to the north. The owners have never had a tenant in their building, and they have allowed it to deteriorate—much to the concern of the Ontario Heritage Trust who hold the Heritage Easement Agreement on the property.

It's probably financially-motivated. I don't see their objection having any planning merit.

MOD is trying to arrange a hearing as soon as possible so that both they and Massey Hall can proceed with their projects. That probably means a few months.

So, patience is required on this now!
Could be held up a couple of months while this works it way through the OMB.

Here is photo of the building in question....

From http://www.blogto.com

The owner of the building, has allowed it to deteriorate, and only seems to care now, that the Massey Tower is going up right next to it.

Hopefully it's not too big of a delay.

That's not so sad. Shouldn't be too long.

Those offshore owners sound like absent landlords that were hoping the building would deteriorate to the point that they could have it demolished. That this heritage property will not only survive, but they won't be selling the land for a massive profit is likely infuriating them.

I hope they get 'dealt with'.

Good news: Apparently the adjacent property owner who recently appealed this project's approval at the Ontario Municipal Board has dropped his challenge. There's now nothing stopping this from getting started. We can expect site work to begin soon.

Some of you saw this video three months ago, but shortly after being posted here it was set to private. Now it's up again:

Very cool video! Thanks for posting Ramako. The rendering makes the tower look so small, but from the video renderings I can see that this is going to have some serious presence.

Well a month has passed, no sign of any work.

So maybe a June or July start?

Are we going to move this to the highrise construction thread now? Or must we wait until excavation is complete.

We need to wait to until the first concrete pour directly related to the foundation has occurred.

January 23rd, 2015 by Roundabout.

Work is happening on site. A very difficult site to work on - this one will take a while because of the logistics.
