Methodology for the City of London, Ontario

There is an amazing and totally awesome Youtube video called "Our Provinces" - A Documentary about Canada. It shows a lot of the histories and what all it takes that makes Canada what it is and from where it came from in the beginning. The entire video is what the City of London can do with what an entire nation has done to bring Canada into a city itself. By offering a piece of everything that everyone is familiar with and having it all in one city to give it such a life that no other city can compare with. If we are one's who want the City of London, Ontario to be what she was truly meant to be, then the city needs to do everything to offer just that. London, Ontario was the initial city to become Canada's Capital, and that was taken away from her. But with future growths happening and many coming from abroad. Then this is an example with how London can lead the way for all of Canada to follow suit in.

London was mooted as Ontario's capital, but never Canada's capital.

London was never seriously considered for the capitol of Upper Canada. Lord Simcoe certainly wanted it when he founded the settlement at the fork of the Thames but I think that was more vanity than anything else. He named it London because he thought it would help his cause and obviously it didn't.

Strange thing is, that Simcoe's failed attempt at making London the capitol is actually what led to it's nickname which has now been around for 200 years. It was met with more laughter than anything else at Westminster. Due to London being on a non-navigable waterway and with no roads or rail in the middle of a solidly treed Southern Ontario, it was joked that "who would put a capitol city in the middle of the forest" which is where London got it's nickname, The Forest City.
