Sounds link a "Ring Bus" or two or three might be a helpful addition. A route each way. and maybe layers of rings with small feeder bus spokes from hubs...

Justin likes to apologize. If they cancel the jobs maybe he can say "Sorry London" with a $5 Billion emergency London Infrastructure grant and we can build all the ideas: light rail, strategically planned in town freeway segments, a ring road, and a bunch of Federal jobs to make up for it!!

They do not need to expropiate any land between Oxford and Huron. Most property lines in Woodfeild, Old North and SoHo are right at people front step. It was set up sothere would be wide tree lined boulevards. If they can have six lanes along Wellington is SoHo witheffecting any buildings they can do that to Richmond between Oxford and Huron. It is Broughdale that no longer follow this layout, and the. BRT current is already effecting two list heritage properties with questionable value.

It seems the city, like everyone else has an irrational stance on Richmond Street. The stretch along Wellongton through old south will see almost every building being impacted or torn down, yet no one cares, or even know about it. Well, aside from LACH who listed almost all properties.

A $5 billion injection of cash would be a massive boost for London and its economy. The spin-off effects would be incredible.

$1 billion of that would buy London a very good rapid-transit system.

As of this writing, General Dynamics are in the process of laying off 37 workers at the armoured vehicle plant on Oxford Street. The company says the layoffs have nothing to do with the potential cancellation of the Saudi armoured vehicle contract, but I think a lot of people in London, especially those at GDLS, know better.

They are always doing this there though. My brother in law was laid off a few years ago in a small group like that. Then they hire a few here and a few there, which is never in the news, and then they go and let go a few dozen again. It's always deskjob people (engineers, IT, etc) and quite often, they are on contract for specific projects. They don't typically lay off unionized workers from the floor. Also, unlike most large unionized factories, the union manufacturing workforce at GDLS is a minority of the total workforce there.

Imaginations here truly run wild. Billions for a town with 4 seats? Lol.

All for a region whose share of the provincial population is falling? London will be less important with every year that goes by.

I've never known politicians to care about investing substantially in towns that don't win them lots of seats. If you have, I'd like examples.

Enjoy the traffic. Start brainstorming ways to make that longer drive more enjoyable or productive. You'll need it in a few years.
