^ As far as I know it's the first year they've really done it up like that. That area (Historic Properties) is actually much more active in the summertime and is usually pretty dead in the winter, although there are a few popular bars and restaurants that serve as anchors (and there's a casino nearby). It's really well-suited to the "winterization" they did this year (ie. it does look kinda magical) because its basically all wide pedestrian alleyways, so it's cozy without being claustrophobic.

The winter theme really does suit it well. It makes it look almost unmistakably old Canada, if that makes any sense
