745 Thurlow looks impressive from that angle. CBD looking good!

This town has come a long way from the empty parking lot it was in the 90's. Long way to go yet, but lots of exciting business developments lately.

I took the liberty of doing a rough skyline rendering using the photo posted by madog222 (hope you don't mind, but thanks for the great angle)…

I must have recounted a few floors trying to figure out its final height.

Based on (my memory of) the Trump Tower's sales video which shows views from its penthouse vantage point at levels close to that of the top of the Shangri-la, this rendering seems to be accurate in terms of its placement of the TrumpTower's project height (vis-a-vis that of the Shangri-la).

A never-seen-before angle from 35th floor along Burrard street. More to follow.

The 90s... Ahh, a time when many viewed condos having no long term appreciation in value. Pioneers like Pinnacle and Concord Pacific would prove them wrong, and hence the disappearance of downtown parking lots. Today we have non-believers in super talls and massive retail structures, but I'm sure a new pioneer would enter and prove everyone wrong once again.

Trump is also one of the pioneering structures that will change the way people feel about tall buildings here.

Kits beach will be a new favourite for a great downtown shot when Trump is completed. Thanks for the great rendering!

I agree, Trump may not have the best name anymore, as long as we can push supertall buildings in Vancouver that's all that matters, regardless of whose name is plastered on the side of the building (too bad it's not my last name hehe).

Great photos and rendering!

The Trump name may not last anyway. If it was a Trump run hotel I would say we are stuck with it for a few decades at the least. But with this licensing agreement, if it's not popular or financially advantageous in a few years they could make an agreement with any other brand holder or just rename it something new.

Very nice rendering. I didn't even pick up on it being a rendering as I quickly scrolled to the bottom.

@Delerium: That is one cool angle. Good find.

Here are some angles that someone "requested" a few weeks ago.

Klazu: thanks for another great set of photos!

Delirium: I've never seen that angle of the skyline before! Lots of layers, varied heights and building styles, good view of the CBD and mountain backdrop - could be my new favourite view of the skyline!

My photos from today:

I am so excited to see this thing continue twisting and going up. Brilliant.

I don't know why, but the quality of this building is coming as somewhat of a surprise for me. The units are awful, but the visuals offered by this build are just great.

A less stellar but wider shot of Downtown from Lions Gate Bridge. Taken on Sunday evening.
