I'm looking through my stuff right now, but I'm sure I have early renderings of it having main floor commercial spots. I don't want to drag this out, so if I can't find them your probably right.

Been like that since Ace of Base was in the Top 40 in 1995. it was an ESSO

I just hope they have security up the ass. Considering the firebugs, gangbangers in the area, and people looking for bags of tools to steal... theres a siginificant chance that some idiot might accidentally or purposefully set it on fire, if no ones on-site to guard it, plus obvious tool theft and everything. Or if WPS is too busy, eating donuts and writing tickets for useless medical masks, to doth dare patrol a firebugs heaven of a construction site... I really hope that the construction company will hire non-Paul Blart security forces, to guard it until its completed.

That project boggles me. I like that it is happening but I look around at so many great properties that could be developed downtown and wonder how in the world that one ended up happening. It doesn’t even face a street.

Is it safe to say the Good St. project is a vote of confidence in the Winnipeg market? Or just a bizarre anomaly, as trueviking alluded to in terms of its unusual character?

Doesn't it face Good Street? I guess Good is one of those back lane streets..

Looks like it, doesn't it? there's a couple of apartment blocks just south of the building location that face Good St., but others all have their back to it. Quirky!

Good Street always seemed like the Street Nobody Wanted. It was historically a one-sided street, with houses down the west side (all gone now) and the back yards of Colony Street houses down the east side. In that respect it was like Lorette Avenue, which Guy Maddin featured in My Winnipeg. Not as strange as Carruthers Avenue, which is a no-sided street.

Maybe it was on the border of two subdivisions that didn't fit together as well as planned.

I think there are a couple of sections in West Kildonan that are one-sided streets. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Kingsbury (?) and either a section of Atlantic or Polson (between Scotia and Main) is also one-sided. Would make an interesting short film...the weird one-sided streets of Winnipeg.

There's streets like that allover the place. They're left over's from adjoining developments.

While I'm still sour about losing the neon signs, Canada Life has been replacing all the windows and the new ones are looking nice. Not much difference but the clean panes with different frames look spiffy.

Looks good, do we know if there's any commercial on the main floor?
