^^^ Those are actually the old designs..... I actually dont even think they were real designs. Just marketing ploys to show how the land can be developed. The official and latest design is on the first page. I haven't heard anything about it being changed.

And when you click on the link you posted. It redirects to the official design for the project.... or were you just referencing what could have been.

And formwork for the core of the condo tower is starting to show up. These guys aren't messing around!

So Phase 2 officially broke. Of course, that is only the third tower. I thought it was going to be both towers 3 and 4. So tower 4 is now "phase 3."

The whole article is based on a press release form Douglas Elliman.

Greenland USA announced earlier this year that they're planning on starting phase two soon. They never mentioned a phase three.

It was listed on the curbed article. I walked over to the parking lot to look at night. Some of it was slightly broken.

The Curbed article was based on the Douglas Elliman press release.

Phase two was supposed to start sometime in 2015, although Greenland has yet to specify an exact date. They have received shoring and grading permits for the other half of the development site, though.

Major pours, such as foundation pours, require constant flow of concrete in order to avoid cold joints. Therefore pouring during the night hours makes more sense. Having concrete trucks caught in traffic could disrupt this constant flow of concrete therefore ruining the pour.

Third crane is up and active, climbing formwork has been installed on the core of the condo tower, and the core will be up to ground level with the next pour. At the same time, the hotel tower seems to have two cores, and formwork for the west core is already mostly in place. Things are really starting to heat up here, despite the chilly (for LA standards) weather.

Sorry if anyone's seen this rendering already but I haven't seen it posted in this thread yet. I think this is an awesome design for the 54 storey tower.

It's kind of crazy when you think about it, but the condo tower in Phase 1 will only be the 3rd building over 400 ft. (after the Ritz Carlton & Wilshire Grand) to be built downtown in well over 20 years. The Watermarke Tower got close at 395 ft., but didn't quite break that barrier.
