For One Yonge, I honestly hope that one or two of the shorter towers get removed and the heights of the three main towers increases to over 300 meters each.

Hey all! If you live in a high-rise building in Toronto, please consider doing my QUICK (7-8 minute) survey on high-rise emergency preparedness (for my masters).

http://fluidsurveys.com/s/preparedness/

I'm about 10 responses short of 100, so your help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Struggling student

Preliminary report for 156 Front shows a new design:

It looks like the residential component has been dropped. Instead it will be one 265 metre tower.

Second thoughts, after seeing some of the buildings in Chicago today, I am now leaning towards this is actually more boring than it could be. Early days but would like something a bit more exciting.

For Torontonian tastes, this is about as exciting as is permitted.

At 265m, I too would have liked to see something as unique as scotiabank plaza or trump vancouver (i think buildings that twist look amazing). But i guess the fact that it isn't another box is sort of an improvement aha.

The lower 50% looks good, the upper half is a disaster.

I don't find any of it particularily appealing............just another glass box with a couple different angles to try to make it less monotonous but unfortunately it doesn't work.

156 Front looks much better than the old boring and also may I add, quite ugly design it previously had, so this I think is a major improvement.

Jeez, If you're going to call this a glass box you might as well call the Time Warner Center another glass box.

The old 80 Bloor design (which might be the final) is a pretty solid addition provided top quality materials are used.

Theres no way the new design can seriously go through. The upper half is the dogs breakfast.

I really hope Union Centre and 156 Front go up though. They aren't box-like and they're tall. Would be great additions to the skyline in my opinion. I like the new top to the Holt Renfrew Tower. Less rectangular.

The top of Holt Renfrew is a dog's breakfast. They can't decide what kind of building they want. The original design was a safe, but sure beats this tacky mess.

I like the idea of not being rectangular, and to some extent the curved top bit looks ok, but it's too much of a jumbled mess with the boxiness just below. It's like the architect couldn't decide between two or three different designs, so chose to put all of them clumped together instead.

For a tower of this height and location I would like something much better looking.

Agreed. The bottom and the podium of the tower is a mess.
