I wonder if they could get even more allowable buildable space if the tower includes low income housing PLUS a plaza. Anyone know this?

Maybe with a special permit, but judging from the hostility they're getting now, why bother?

Love the design, and 845' is not bad for the area

That's a good height, though why the developer is saying it's 740 ft is a mystery. Maybe that's without the crown.

Could be the height to the highest occupied floor. The extra height is most likely architectural elements. Looks like the tip adds an extra 100 or so feet.

I love. I can't figure out the precise site though. It looks like maybe it's on the site of the fortress located at 255 Greenwich. I hope it's a real proposal .

Does look like its near it. 255 Greenwich is undergoing a renovation though (Unless they sell it?), probably one of the sites right by it. Looks like its 1250' or so to the spire. I'm sure the design will change if it becomes serious down the line, but that glass looks akin to WTC4 which is the invisible tower when seen from the right angles during a sunny day. Time will tell, but it would almost look better at pre-super tall levels without a spire. I have a feeling it will change though; this being the same firm who is proposing some vision/mystery super tall near the ESB.

Looks to be close to 1,300 ft to the top of that spire, or close enough to the roof of the Freedom Tower.

Could be a future proposal, could be in the works, or could be nothing. It was worth a look, and from the video its not quite as bulky looking from all sides.

Google Earth...

The Freedom Tower's spire is too much also. I think they would go well together as two spikes on the skyline, especially with everything else planned Downtown. But we may be getting way ahead of ourselves.

One thing it does do is put 111 Murray in a new light.

I think that's even more of a problem though, the WTC's spire being right there next to it. Now you just have two building's with ridiculous spires next to each other. If they want height why not just add a crown or build the building higher?
