No pics today, but apparently demolition is well under-way.

I doubt that will happen unfortunately, as the shadow bylaw is in effect because of the park.

Do they have a mini excavator on the roof yet? I can get some shots from above when that happens.

The entire parkade structure and Quincy's restaurant building now have scaffolding and tarps covering them. Also, almost every floor in the Mawer Building now has orange demolition tarps covering the windows on the inside. This one is definitely going ahead

To add floors would result in delays as they would have to submit for changes to the DP (or possibly even a new DP if changes were dramatic enough), go through CPC again, etc...pretty sure this one is going as is. Still we shouldnt be greedy, it's over 400' tall so would be among the tallest in Ottawa, Winnipeg, Quebec or Hamilton...outside of Toronto or Calgary, this thing would be pretty noticeable on the skyline...

^ But this isn't Ottawa, Winnipeg, or Hamilton! But I understand what you're trying to say.

Ah, okay. that makes sense coming from Tallbob lol!

I would have loved to have seen at least 15 floors added to this one as it is a really nice looking tower.

It would be the tallest in Ottawa by a significant margin, and by leaps and bounds the nicest skyscraper in the entire national capital region. We're lucky to get this tower, regardless of it not being tall by the standards of this city.

Demolition is now underway for sure. The entire Mawer Building is empty as well.

7th ave is sure going through some impressive changes. Telus sky, Brookfield, the autopark/heritage development. Would be nice to see second phase of the Bow get going.

It will be nice to see a major building with some curves...something Calgary doesn't have a lot of, other than The Bow.

Most cities don't have curves in their skyscrapers. Calgary is doing pretty well with The Bow, Manulife, Telus Sky, and Brookfield all having curves in their designs.

Also, 7th Avenue will have First Canadian Centre II going up as well. It should happen pretty quickly as well, since from what I understand, no excavation is required for FCC II. I hope the Autopark happens.

Telus Sky has absolutely no curves, only the illusion of curves.

Telus Sky has more curve than Brookfield Place.

Orange mean remediation.
