This is an awesome photo thread!

It reminded me of a photo series I am partial to from another city

http://www.photomichaelwolf.com/transparent_city/

(All images credit Michael Wolff from Aperture Press)

Because of his focus on capturing activity in the interior, most of his images were taken in the nighttime, usually using large-format film designed for incandescent lighting. In the daytime, sunlight tends to bounce off the windows and there's less contrast between the exterior of the buildings and the windows, which makes the appearance less contrasted and seem more flat. Granted in the daytime people are often racing back and forth from their desks to elevators in order to go up and down with files of paperwork.

I enjoy these daytime images for the different take on city life. From the aerial view, you can't necessarily make out all of the figures and certainly not close-up enough to get an actual view of what they are doing, but it does capture the essence of the city of being full of constant activity, which is one of the many things that make it amazing and particular to new york. If I had access to this address I would probably set up shop there with an extremely long-range telescopic zoom lens, given my undying curiosity about the activity in all of those street corridors.
