Megacenter Brickell Proposed, Includes Residential and Storage

Quote:
Megacenter is planning a 12-story mixed-use project with a vibrant facade on the western edge of Brickell

It's located just west of I-95 on Southwest 7th Street, and is an interesting development because it would be primarily comprised of storage (74,790 square feet).

The plan calls for a little over 45,000 square feet of residential space—57 units--16,670 square feet of office space, over 9,000 square feet of retail, and 111 parking spots.

Reinaldo Borges of Borges + Associates Architects is the architect and this project would approximately be the 5,000th Brickell development for this cycle.

Exterior Work Underway on Topped-Off Brickell Ten

Quote:
The urban neighbourhood of Brickell in Miami has grown into a global hub for international business, shopping, culture, and the arts. It's where many of the city's newest condominiums are calling home, including Brickell Ten, a 22-storey project by Waterstone Capital and IBCorp Investments.

These series of photos show the change of Brickell from 2012 to 2015. Even from the the last photo to now it has changed drastically.

Miami Beach Streetcar System Map:

Credit: NXT

Quote:
As the Miami Beach Streetcar moves closer to reality, new details about the project have been pouring in.

At a meeting yesterday (June 16), a committee ranked a team led by Alstom as the top bidder for the project. The full city commission is tentatively scheduled to vote on the rankings in July.

The system is being designed to be as convenient as possible, according to a presentation by the city:

There will be dedicated lanes in two directions separating the streetcar from traffic

The system will operate nearly around the clock, only closing between 2 and 5:30 AM

Streetcars will arrive every 6 to 7.5 minutes

No ugly overhead wires, and compatible with system connecting to mainland

Can see numerous developments with cranes. Brickell Heights, Panorama Tower, Brickell City Centre, just to name a few.

And if we look carefully, we can see the red cranes for Miami Centre Phase 1.

1000 Museum is to the right unfortunately. Not covered by the pic.

Eastern National Bank Vacates Office Building Where Brickell City Centre’s Second Phase Is Planned.

By TNM Staff on June 20, 2016

An office building that sits on the future site of One Brickell City Centre has been vacated by Eastern National Bank

Brickell City Centre developer Swire Properties purchased the 197,611 square foot office building from Eastern National in 2011 for just $13.1 million. The bank moved from the building, located at 799 Brickell Plaza, in mid-May.

Next door, Swire also owns the former Miami Today headquarters, which has already been demolished, and another office building currently being used as a sales center for condos at Brickell City Centre. The properties will be combined to become the site of the 1,049 foot | 317 meter | 80 story - One Brickell City Centre mixed-use tower.

The plan moves forward for construction of Miami's first Supertall to begin in the last quarter of 2017 for this :

Upon completion this will be the tallest tower in the entire South including Texas.

Hopefully that is just a preliminary design for One Brickell... because it blows. Looks '80s Houston.

It looks more like Citigroup tower in NYC.

Neat interactive comparison with sliders to show the growth in Miami and how it has changed the landscape.

Along with other cities as well.
