I'm sure its only going to continue especially as the city gets more and more press coverage.

This is interesting. Can you provide the link for where you found these numbers?

I love Neckar Coffee. I had a few of their macchiatos yesterday down on Grove Street at Treefort.

Any updates on this project next to the CW Moore Plaza? Boisedev had a write-up from 2016 on the proposal.

Carley’s proposal is expected to go before Boise’s Design Review Committee at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 2017.

Thanks to you there is an impressive photographic history of Boise's growth from the past 11 years stored in this thread and the first development thread.

Anyone hear anything more about the St. Luke's proposal on the adjacent lot?

It is in the process of wrapping up construction drawings and getting the building permits for the different bid packages. I believe intent is to break ground early summer sometime.

Fencing around the site of the new Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering at Boise State has gone up. My guess is that there will be some prep work in the next few weeks and then a formal ground-breaking ceremony some time prior to commencement.

Is this by the existing engineering building?

Yes... site is between the engineering building and rec center. It looks like central receiving will be displaced. There's a new building that's finishing up immediately to the south of the engineering building... it's a utility building with garage bays. So I presume that might be where receiving will be relocated.

Yep, the FO&M building on Unviersity will be relocated to sw corner of Euclid and Belmont. The current building will be abated and torn down to make room for the new material sciences building. Groundbreaking will take place next week, with site work starting in the next month or so.
Anybody have some photos of the new building going up?

I guess the climbing gym is coming down to make room for this.
A rumor is floating around of possibly a new climbing gym near The Symposion/Goodman Oil site?

No, I'm looking for a photo of the new FO&M building at Euclid and Belmont. Last time I went by a couple weeks ago the steel was up. At this point, they exterior should be up and done.

New Boise Company Making Homes Out of Shipping Containers
By JOHN SOWELL, Idaho Statesman

http://kuow.org/post/these-seattle-a...aho-here-s-why

These Seattle apartments are being built in Boise, Idaho. Here’s why

Quote:
The apartment complex at Aurora and North 109th Street in Seattle was built on the cheap.

That’s because Daniel Stoner, the developer, outsourced the building to Boise, Idaho, where labor and material costs are cheaper.

“This entire building was built in Boise,” he said, gesturing to the large block building on one of Seattle’s most infamous highways.

How Boise could keep at least some Downtown housing affordable

Quote:
Living in Downtown Boise keeps getting harder for working-class people.

As Downtown booms, housing is more expensive than ever. Rents for newly built one-bedroom apartments are as high as $1,700. Old housing is getting more expensive, too. If this trend continues, Downtown Boise could become off-limits to all but the rich.
