Well I'm glad that they seem to finally be moving with this at least. It's a real shame that this project won't be adding any real density to that corner. I can imagine a fairly significant mixed use project at that corner doing rather well.

Nice! Looks like terrific infill for the area. I'd love to see about a dozen more of these fill in the various parking lots along Washington Ave.

Seems like they are taking their time with this one, it's been like that for a few weeks now. I'm starting to wonder if there is structural work that has to be done first. You can see a stack of fresh cinder block right behind the gate, I remember seeing three or four stacks of them (shrink wrapped even) when I went by last. Pretty unusual to have building materials like that delivered when the structures are coming down....

^ Yeah, the College House between 23rd and 24th Streets hasn't been announced yet (and is part of Penn's NEXT eastward expansion plan).

Just wait 'til the Penn campus stretches all the way from West Philly to the Jersey Shore.

Just a single line of highrise buildings lining each side of the AC expressway with University of Pennsylvania and Penn Medicine marqueed at the top of each building.

Make it mid-rise buildings, and it's Pennsgrant's worst nightmare.

Where exactly on Arch?

Do you mean between 2nd and 3rd? The empty lot has a "mansion" being built on it right across from the Betsy Ross house. The surface parking lot on the corner of 3rd and Arch has a 6 story apartment building being built on it with ground floor retail.

speaking of mansions; two are going up on Bainbridge near Broad -They will each have 16,000 sqft of interior space and another 4,000 sqft of deck space. The homes will have six or seven bedrooms, and eight or nine bathrooms. Amenities include parking, an au pair suite, basement basketball courts, and a swimming pool.

spiffy renderings here: http://www.ocfrealty.com/naked-phill...-of-bainbridge

Do you have access to renderings of either/both?
