How'd you come up with your screenname/handle?

Just curious. Some are clearer than others.

I came up with mine back around 2000. Trying to sign up for AIM and everything I tried was taken. So I came up with this.

Led
Zeppelin
Plant
Page
Jones
Bonham

And here I have been thinking the first letter in your screen name was an "I". Guess I wasn't paying attention. Mine is simple; Austin/Larry= Austlar. The Austlar 1 came after I lost my log in information and had to come back as Austlar1.

As I've mentioned in an earlier post, I'm Cherokee (certainly don't look it though, haha, but that's another story for another time) but my handle is what I use for everything, my Cherokee name, which in Cherokee is written as ᏗᎦᏘᏍᏗ and means "Spear". My grandmother gave me that name after ᏗᎦᏘᏍᏗ ᏥᏧᏫᏍᎦ (First name translated to Spear, last name anglicised to Titsworth) who walked the Trail of Tears and then resettled in Limestone Co., Texas immediately after. It's a name that means a lot to me... Plus it's never taken on forums so I pretty much just use it everywhere online.

Mine's pretty generic of course. I created it for this site in 1999. My profile says I joined July 10, 2001, but that was actually after a forum software upgrade back then, so this is my 2nd account on the forum. There weren't many Texans on the forum then, so I had to represent.

This is what the website looked like in 1999.

A lot of people think it's an I. It looks capitalized, but it's in all lowercase. I would have never guessed lar was for Larry. I always try to say it as one word. haha

A syndic is a member of an anarcho-syndicalist society in the book The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin, which is one of the most popular works of anarchist fiction of all time. Really great book. I definitely recommend it.

Wow, would have never guessed. Cool! I've been a fan since I was a kid.

As for my handle -- I think I'll maintain the mystique and keep it a secret

I figured your screen name was based on the car but didn't think it was your real name. Mine is also based on a car. I have been collecting and restoring Corvairs for about 25 years now. I think I've personally owned 16 and currently own 8. I've also restored about a dozen for other people over the years. I've also been the vice president of the Central Texas chapter of CORSA (Corvair Society of America) for about the last 5 years. So I've been going as Corvair Keith for years.

My of course is pretty obvious. My real name is Jonathan, but I used "inATX" because I spent most of my life in Austin and loved it ever since.

Last year at this time, we rented out our house on 44th for sxsw, and that paid for us to live in costa rica for 6 weeks. After a few weeks of beach bumming I was home sick for some Austin pics and news, and had been a long time occasional reader so I decided to join the convo. Due to my reality and personality, the screen name was self evident...

Some folk from down-under thought I was one of them. That would of been 'AussiTex'. I was surprised AusTex was not taken.
