Actually as far as i can remember no... usually KLM will fly in an MD-11, sometimes a B744 and very rarely a B767. The most impressive trivial anecdote on KLM is that they use a decked-out 42 seat B737 with 9 auxiliary gas tanks to fly Schipol to George Bush Airport, Houston Texas! I never got that one?!

Just wanna add WestJet has added YUL-YHZ to its route network...but it's only a 3 weekly flight. I hope they know what they're doing...AC flies the route 8-times daily and Porter will begin with 1 daily...3 weekly just ain't gonna cut it.

It's probably not a good move: WestJet already flies from YYZ and YHM to the Maritimes, and in the summer season they also have a flight from YYC to the Maritimes.... As much as Halifax is developping into a small hub for the Maritimes, Canjet runs it and they have a firm grip on it!

Again it looks like the strategy of going up against AC (and JAZZ) on the milk routes... WestJet is doing pretty good vs AC on the YUL-YYZ route but it's mainly because of the high demand... that demand is not there for the Maritimes. I guess we'll wait and see..

I was taking pictures in the airport while waiting to board for cancun, then some young woman dressed in civilian approached me and showed her mickey mouse (canadian customs) badge to me. she asked me where i am going, the whereabouts of my passport and what i was doing... It was not even 8 in the morning so I can't remember what i blabbed but she left me alone.

a bit later i went for a dump in the toilets and some civilian dude (with radio in his ear) came inside the toilets to "take a dump" too...

what the hell is this? didn't know we lived in the middle east or some other retarded place.

Security in airports in North America is just like corporate ethics: smoke and mirrors to make people believe they're actually doing something about it!!! Like Robin Williams said in his movie man of the year, when an 85 year old woman goes through an extensive security check at an airport... it's a lost cause, because if she's realy in on it, then we're all lost!

Quick question: were her dog tags (or mickey mouse) red? (that woman from airport security)

SepLossinYul:

random question here: how much air traffic does Montreal see 'overhead' i.e European-US destination traffic - and in which (general) points do the planes originate and terminate (like US East cost, or mid-west only etc)?

is it like in Paris or Amsterdam and you look up at any time and see the contrails of planes en route elsewhere, or is it sporadic?

cheers

Well it depends on the jetstream: if it's low like the winter time and now where I work (Baie-Comeau to Ottawa East to west and Roberval to Sherbrooke North to South 29000 to 60000ft)
