Today the index was reading 4-7 instead of 163-178... So typical of Alberta weather... In this case it took a day to clear...

Looks like the Google issue spawned a Reddit thread which in turn sparked some mass media stories

Hah, that's awesome. I've been at a cottage the last week with no internet, but I take complete credit for this (Though I note the offending image is still up.)

Another couple from last night in Cromdale/Ada Boulevard area...

Love the Kennedale Ravine trails... oh and did someone say this is in the middle of a 1.3 Million person metropolitan area?!?! Love the greenery of our river valley.

^beauty.

Been my standard line for years ... you bet Calgary and Vancouver have beauty in the distance that you can see.

Edmonton, otoh has beauty a ten minute bike ride away.

And fixed...
http://edmontonjournal.com/news/loca...ft-from-google

Quote:
Many Edmontonians used Google’s general feedback tool in recent weeks to lobby the company for an image update.

But Alexandra Hunnings, a spokeswoman for Google Canada, said it was really city officials getting involved in the campaign to update Edmonton’s main image on the “knowledge card” that spurred the change.

“The City of Edmonton took it upon themselves to go through the process (and) make the change,” Hunnings said.

What a beautiful view! How I would like to go there and see it with my own eyes! That's what the magic of photos and buildings does to us!)
