No, they just renovated. They do that in renders all the time to illustrate the type of place they’d like. The 433 Main renderings show Oscar’s Deli where Generation Green is.

Project looks great.

However, there’s some changes from this rendering that really hurt it and I’m curious if/why the changes were approved at city hall.

- None of the CRUs have doors to the sidewalk. There is a single door on Westminster that I guess will provide interior access to all. Really hoping this wasn’t a change due to some institution taking the entire main floor for an office.
- Maybe they’ll somehow be added, but the building is built literally to the sidewalk, so I don’t think any of those benches or nice finishings will happen.
- The walk-ups on Maryland have stairs that face each other/sideways, making it feel much more closer off them the street-facing designs.

^ Architecturally so-so, but at least it provides a bit of an anchor for possible future development. It's nice to see some of Sherbrook's momentum spilling over onto Maryland.

I'm OK with the CRUs being mostly closed off to the street if the plan is for offices or whatever, but it would have been nice if there had been at least one small shop with street access right on the corner or something.

I'd be curious to see what plans actually got approved by city... or if this was another one where developer made changes after approval like across the street.

Looks like the CRU's could add doors where the glazing extends down to the side walk. Where there is brick, there would be no doors unless the brick was removed. Which could be easily done.

Otherwise ya looks like they're all closed off.

Absolutely unhinged, 17-page (not counting another 6 pages of email) appeal of the 198 Sherbrooke development:

If she wanted that ‘community garden’ so bad then she should have bought the land. Ridiculous.

That person clearly felt extremely strongly about the matter... she even attempted to take the matter on her own to the Supreme Court of Canada.
