I wasn't sure if you were gonna wait till you did the rest of the complex to show this one.

Funny how in order to do some buildings, you have to wait for the right part to come out that helps pull off an important aesthetic detail. Those Chima claw pieces work really nice.

I love the peeling back of the corners also. I think that's why Cesar Pelli is one of my favorite architects.

For anyone who's in the area, I'll be displaying at Brickworld Fort Wayne on September 28 & 29. More info is available on the Brickworld website.

I'll be displaying my fourteen Chicago skyscraper models, as well as premiering an all new Chicago model! This building is known for its post-modern take on classical architecture. Any guesses?

Same here. I look at that and I assume it's LEGO, but what pieces again?!

I actually have several of the gold tiles, which a friend of mine didn't know about. They must have just come out last year?

Those are actually chrome gold! According to Bricklink, they've only been in 3 sets from 2003. I'd imagine that they're still leaked as queue elements, considering there are over 2,000 on Bricklink.

I have the metallic gold, not the chrome gold. Didn't know there were two different kinds of gold.

RJB: I thought your model was of the RR Donnelley Building but I did not realize the building had been renamed until I googled. I think you have set a new record for the employment of technic parts on a microscale skyscraper.

* * *

A friend of mine in MichLUG, Scot Thompson, built a new minifig model of One Detroit Center that exceeds in size my Penobscot Building. I was looking forward to seeing it at the Detroit Design Festival the previous week but the top of it fell apart in transit so he was able to display only the first 8 feet of the building:

One Detroit Center is the big gray and tan building in the middle.
