I think the red glass will be very prominent. Glad like stuck with the color scheme unlike 16th and Sansom.

May be an unpopular opinion here, but I don’t really like the red. It’s a bit garish. Not the end of the world, but the panels in the original renderings seemed to be a bronzier, warmer color. 16th/Sansom seemed to use much better materials and has a better color palate imo

It might be one of those situations where it depends on how the light hits it.

Pretty cool! Shame they couldn't add 2-3 more feet to eclipse 400 feet, but I'll take it!

210 South 12th Street nearly topped by Philly SkyGuy, on Flickr
I was right, I can now see the cladding from NJ. Also, the core seems to have just reached the top. Lastly the west terrace has been constructed and there should only be two slabs left.

The vibrant red panels are slightly noticable too, but definitely should be more noticable during noon from NJ

Have to say, I’m not liking how this one turned out. The stark red paneling under glass looks odd (reminds me of a self storage facility) and the bulky massing from street level is awkward - it does nothing to harmonize with the surrounding buildings. Hopefully, it’ll look better when it’s completed.

I personally think the paneling adds good character and contrast--certainly more unique and preferable to metal paneling that's far too common these days. To each their own, though.

I'm okay with the design, but its definitely a stout looking building. Another 10 floors would even out the ratio, or a simple setback or slightly angled shape would have helped.
(For example, Arthaus has great setbacks and The Ryland has that nice angle on the west side).

I don’t think the building is horrible, but it is definitely disappointing compared to the original design, which was a taller building with a soaring white fin at the top. That building looked superb; the new design is bulkier and more ordinary.

And the vertical stripes in the proposed renditions were red-orange, much like the red-brick buildings of the neighborhood. But the color has been changed. Now the stripes are a a rather strange faded red-purple. The cooler color blends more closely with the bluish windows, especially since the entire wall appears to be beneath reflective glass. As a result, the striped pattern appears much less prominent from a distance than the drawings had indicated.

Also, at least at the present time, the horizontal white bars that appear every three stories are recessed rather than protruding, making them less prominent than in the architectural drawings. (Perhaps that will be corrected as construction proceeds?)
